Easy and amazing! Fabric manipulation patterns for beginners

*** Dear readers, your valuable feedback has brought us to this new volume. We have made our designs easier, yet amazing. Even beginners with little or no experience can have fun with the aesthetic designs, available in the form of square and hexagon blocks, to create your original masterpiece. ***

Smocking is one embroidery technique that has been invented and used widely for centuries. The hand-stitching craftsmanship is a type of fabric manipulation, for which many modern designs are available in the form of decorative art. All designs in this book were derived directly from origami tessellation folding patterns. As fabrics are more flexible and stretchy than paper, fascinating 3D textures can be expected, either pleats are pressed or soft-rounded.

In this volume, the inverted twist design concept is introduced. The necessary foundations are provided, along with specific techniques for inverted twists. You can gradually develop your skills from the less complicated designs on a square grid to the more challenging ones on a triangular grid. In addition, two projects with step-by-step instructions are also demonstrated; one using square blocks and the other using hexagon blocks.

This pattern book features;

9 actual-size patterns and stitch templates, based on the inverted twist designs

Sewing templates for the handbag and tissue box holder projects

Difficulty – entry to intermediate levels

Three designs can make a square block of 10×10-cm (4×4-inch) finished dimension

Six designs can make a hexagon block of about 10-cm (4-inch) finished dimension

All patterns are printed on a single side

With a 1-cm (about 3/8 inch) square or triangular grid background for reference
